Apple- Cinnamon French Toast

Ready In: 20 minutes
Serves: 4
2 apples
¾ cup brown sugar
⅓ cup flour
4 tbsp butter
1 tsp cinnamon
7 slices of bread
½ cup milk
2 eggs
½ tsp vanilla extract

Peel and slice apples, then combine brown sugar, apples, and butter in a medium skillet.
Cook on medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved and butter is melted. Reduce the heat to a simmer and add in vanilla extract, cinnamon to cook for 8 minutes.
After removing the apples from heat, whisk the eggs, milk, remaining cinnamon and vanilla into a large bowl. Whisk in flour.
Submerge slices of bread into the mixture, leaving excess drips into a bowl.
Carefully, place soaked bread on a pan set on medium high heat. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes each side.
Repeat the process until all are done and set to cool. Finally, top with the apple mixture.
*Powdered sugar and maple syrup are optional.
